Santo Domingo, DN- The Banco Popular Dominicano and its Popular App were distinguished, for the second time in a row, as the best digital bank in the Dominican Republic in 2018, which in turn has the best mobile financial application, according to the criteria of the World Finance magazine.
This British publication, specializing in financial issues, banking trends and global economy, highlights Banco Popular’s leadership in the digital transformation experienced by banking in the country.
The publication explains that this position is the result of Popular’s effort to develop projects and initiatives that add value, maintain customer loyalty and promote business growth and innovation.
These successes, says World Finance, increase financial inclusion and have the capacity to transform the lives of many Dominicans, impacting the economy favorably.
A cutting-edge financial application
In its most recent edition, the accredited financial magazine highlights the value of the Popular App, which allows “Banco Popular to offer its clients a reliable and convenient access to financial services.”
“The application complies with serving the day-to-day needs of customers and, together with the capacity provided by the infrastructure of its online banking model, makes its financial services faster and more efficient for its clientele,” says World Finance

Along with Banco Popular, banks from 23 other nations were recognized, which the magazine points out as companies that maintain their leadership in their respective markets by conquering the multiple challenges, risks and changes facing the banking industry, especially immersed in the processes of digitalization
In addition to this award, the Popular received in 2018 other important awards, such as Best Bank of the Year by The Banker and Latin Finance magazines, Best Bank of the Caribbean by Euromoney, Best Investment Bank by Global Finance, Best Company to Work and Company More Admired by the magazine Mercado, and one of the 25 Leading Companies of Central America and the Caribbean by Summa magazine and consultant Korn Ferry.
