It’s Punkin’palooza Time at Fleamasters Fleamarket

The Pumpkins are coming to Fleamasters Fleamarket. It’s the best of the hometown fall festivals you remember: a pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, face painting and local musicians on stage. The six-day event features family-friendly activities, flea market shopping and free entertainment. The Great Pumpkin Festival rolls into Fleamasters Fleamarket, 4135 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., two weekends: Oct. 13-14-15 and 20-21-22. Parking and admission are free.

Adopt a pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch ($5 to $15 per pumpkin) to paint, personalize and take home. Little ones can fish for prizes in the pumpkin pool ($1), or ride a pony ($5). Families can create a special memory at the “Pumpkin Farmer’s Family Photo Spot.”

“Live music is a big part of the fun,” says Linda Steele, Fleamasters’ Marketing Director. “From oom-pah bands to country classics, you’ll enjoy it here. These live shows will get your toes tapping, maybe even your feet dancing. They capture the essence of a fall celebration.”

Among the performers: Cape Coral’s German festival band, Hafenkapelle; The Dixielanders; Blue Dirt Strollers; and Old Henry’s Swing Band. Country fans will enjoy performances by Colton James, and Mary Lou and the Double Stop Band. The Pumpkin Festival also welcomes the Hot Flashz Dancers to the stage.

BJ and the Sweetwater Band invite everyone back to Fleamasters Fleamarket Saturday evening, Oct. 21, for a free classic country show from 7 pm to 9 pm. This is traditional country music, as pure as it gets. The band will pass a hat to collect donations to help market vendors recover from Hurricane Irma. All proceeds from this year’s Punkin’palooza will help vendors whose property was destroyed by the storm.

Fleamasters Fleamarket is open for shopping 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine. The market offers food and craft vendors and hundreds of unique, owner-operated stores. If you have something to sell (especially if you’re an artist or crafter, or have holiday gifts) Fleamasters’ Pumpkin Festival is a great place to display your wares.
