Santo Domingo, February 2019 – The commercial plaza known as the Silver Sun Gallery and the Embassy Suites Hotel were purchased by the HES Group. The company, based on operations in the city of Miami, has completed a process of buying the property, with the purpose of repositioning it and promoting business tourism in the city center.
“This purchase is made within the framework of a vision of creating an innovative tourism project in the center of the city, which will diversify the current offer, strengthen the sector and generate direct investment that bets on the development of the country” said Francisco Arocha, president of HES Group. He also mentioned the important support received from the BHD León bank, which is financing this important acquisition.
The representatives of the company informed that the project of remodeling and adaptation of the spaces of the current hotel includes the construction of at least 20 additional suites, refreshing the Lobby area and adapting the spaces on the 27th floor to create a modern Rooftop lounge. Similarly, the opening of a haute cuisine restaurant and another restaurant of a casual nature in the pool area is planned. In addition, spaces for conferences and events will be increased to become the main business hotel in Santo Domingo.
The renowned interior design firm Sanchez + Coleman Studio is in charge of the management of the entire remodeling and equipment of the new spaces, always ensuring that guests continue to enjoy a pleasant stay, without any interruption of services. The strengthening plans of the value proposal also include the participation of recognized groups in the gastronomy and entertainment industry in the face of the management of the hotel’s new food and beverage areas.
Hilton Hotels will continue with the management of hotel operations under the Embassy Suites brand, and remains committed to welcoming its guests with the same quality service and hospitality experience for the enjoyment of their stay.
In the case of the commercial plaza, the proposal will be aimed at giving it a largely corporate profile and within the framework of that profile, the aspiration to develop within it a novel concept of shared offices.
