The 2019 Demographic Observatory gathers selected indicators of national population estimates and projections of the 38 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. The estimates and projections of the 20 countries of Latin America were prepared by CELADE-Population Division of ECLAC together with the Population Division of the United Nations (UNDP). The figures of the Caribbean countries were prepared by the UNDP.
It should be noted that the information corresponding to the estimates and projections of the national population of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean is available in spreadsheet format on the website of the CELADE-Population Division of ECLAC (https: / /www.cepal.org/es/areas-de-trabajo/poblacion-y-desarrollo). Additionally, the figures published in this Observatory, as well as the eight additional variants produced by the UNDP, are available on the UNDP website (https://population.un.org/wpp/).
In addition, a chapter is included in which the recent trends of the population of the region are analyzed. The sources of data considered for each country are listed in the technical notes of the document.
