UT Permian Basin Hosts National Water In Energy Conference Sixth Year in Row
MIDLAND, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The annual Water in Energy Conference is scheduled to take place March 5th – 7th at the Bush Convention Center in Midland, Texas. Hosted by The University of Texas Permian Basin’s Shepperd Leadership Institute, now in its 6th year, this prestigious event will gather industry leaders, policymakers, researchers and stakeholders to explore technology, share key insights and discuss critical issues surrounding water management in the energy sector.
This year’s event will feature a diverse lineup of keynote speakers, panel discussions, receptions, and networking opportunities all designed to inspire collaboration, foster innovation, and drive positive change. Attendees can expect:

The conference kicks off with a Welcome Reception on Tuesday, March 5th, at the UT Permian Basin Center for Energy and Economic Diversity (CEED Building), located at 11105 W Hwy 191, Midland, TX 79705. The two-day conference on March 6th and 7th will be held at the Bush Convention Center, situated at 105 N Main St, Midland, TX 79701. The Keynote Dinner on the evening of March 6th will be at the Midland Country Club, located at One Wildcatter Way, Midland, TX 79705.

2024 will mark the 6th edition of the Permian Basin Water In Energy Conference. The Permian Basin Water In Energy Conference dates back to 2017 and was an idea originally seeded by UTPB College of Business Advisory Council member Jim Woodcock. The Water in Energy Conference is now a program of the University’s Shepperd Leadership Institute. Held annually, it brings together leaders, innovators, and stakeholders from across the advanced energy ecosystem to explore emerging trends, share insights, and drive innovation in water reuse.
