Sunny Shaw Appointed to FHLB Des Moines Advisory Council

DES MOINES, Iowa–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines) recently appointed Sunny Shaw, Executive Director of the Twin Falls and Jerome Housing Authorities, to its Affordable Housing Advisory Council (Advisory Council) representing Idaho. Shaw begins her three-year term on January 1, 2024.


The role of the Advisory Council is to advise the FHLB Des Moines Board of Directors about the affordable housing and community lending needs of the Bank’s district.

“Sunny brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Advisory Council,” said Jennifer Ernst, Community Investment Director. “Her insight will help enrich Advisory Council discussions and the advice provided to the Board of Directors about ways FHLB Des Moines can support the affordable housing and community development needs in its district. Shaw’s career spans over 20 years of supporting affordable housing missions; most recently as the Executive Director of the Twin Falls and Jerome Housing Authorities.

Shaw currently serves on the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) Board of Governors, the Idaho Chapter of NAHRO, the Pacific Northwest Regional Council, and is a current member and past chair of the Southeastern Idaho Homeless and Housing Coalition.

Shaw is a graduate of Boise State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Business Management, Sociology, and Leadership.
