Fundación InterMundial, in collaboration with FITUR and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), announces the third edition of the Responsible Tourism Award, an award that recognizes the work and involvement of tourism companies to achieve responsible and sustainable tourism with society, The environment and the economy.
To qualify for this award, which in its second edition received 70 applications from a total of 7 countries, it is required to be an exhibitor at FITUR 2020 and present the actions that have been implemented in the last two years to favor the development of responsible tourism and sustainable. In addition, since last year, the prize also has a category of blogosphere that can be chosen by the blogs that, from their lines, have promoted responsible tourism practices creating awareness among their readers.
All those interested in participating must complete the registration form that they will find on the website of the InterMundial Foundation and on the FITUR page and send it to the email awards@fundacionintermundial.es before January 3, 2020. As in the previous edition, companies that want to participate in the Responsible Tourism Award can submit their candidacy for four different categories by sector. They are:
Hospitality (accommodation, catering and related services).
Transport, tourism products and services (means of transport, airports, incentives and congresses, tour operators, agencies, leisure, health).
Touristic destinations.
Blogosphere
The jury, which will be composed of leading professionals in the tourism sector, will choose in January a winner for each of the four categories that will be announced at the delivery ceremony to be held within the framework of FITUR 2020, during next January 22 to 26.
The Responsible Tourism Award continues to strengthen the InterMundial Foundation’s commitment to show the benefits that sustainable tourism brings to society and the environment in a socio-economic and environmental context, with the aim of minimizing the negative impacts it generates. The Foundation continues to work in favor of research towards responsible and quality tourism development.
