Real estate agents and local associations are honored at the winter meeting of 2019 AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Realtors (Association of Realtors of Texas ) paid tribute to members and associations of Realtors outstanding on February 11 during the Annual edition of the Texas Realtors Winter Meeting, which was held at the Hyatt Regency in Austin . “Real estate agents work tirelessly to ensure that the Lone Star State continues to be an excellent place to live, work and do business, and these awards distinguish those who stood out last year,” said Tray Bates , president of Texas Realtors. The Real Estate Agent of the Year Award of 2018, the most prestigious award from Texas Realtors, was awarded to Leslie Rouda Smith , of Plano . This title is granted annually to a member who has made outstanding contributions to the sector through his involvement in the organizations of local, state and national real estate agents during his career. Smith received this distinction for his kind and accessible leadership style, and for encouraging future generations of leaders in the organization of real estate agents. The Tom D. Morton Association of the Year Executive Award was presented to Kim Lambert , an association executive of the Greater Lewisville Association of Realtors. Award given exclusively to leaders of real estate associations with a long history of service to their local association and with a high degree of respect among colleagues in the sector, the Tom D. Morton Award was awarded to Lambert for his great leadership in the association, their professionalism and dedication, and their involvement in the community. The Good Neighbor Award from Texas Realtors honors a real estate agent who has excelled at community participation and volunteer work. In 2018, the award was transformed from the Texas Hero Realtors Award to the Good Neighbor Award from Texas Realtors. The first winner in accordance with the new award format was Nelvin Adriatico, from CORE Reality, in Sugar Land . Adriatic has a long history as a community and voluntary advocate. As a strong supporter of education, Adriatico is rewarded for its outstanding participation in the Back to School Drive of the Alliance for Multicultural Community Services, a community event in the area of Houston which aims to collect school supplies, uniforms and other items for more than 4,000 students and their families. Lori Solecki , of Solecki Realty, in Colleyville , was named Educator of the Year in 2018. Solecki is an instructor at the Institute for the Graduation in Real Estate (Graduate, Realtor Institute) and is the author of several courses on real estate. She is known for her willingness to learn new things and for ensuring that students receive the high quality education they deserve. Wheeler Commercial, of Beaumont, Texas , received the William C. Jennings Award of 2018 for the outstanding commercial real estate transaction of the year. The William C. Jennings Prize is based on the contribution of the transaction to the community, its merit and creativity, and the application of commercial principles.
