Available on routes from Santiago to Miami and Dallas / Fort Worth, this clearing allows passengers to opt for cheaper fares while maintaining the same level of attention.
In order to deliver more options to its customers, American Airlines implemented its Basic Economy service in Chile.
Available on its routes between Santiago (SCL) and Miami International Airport (MIA), and between SCL and Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) from November 5, Basic Economy allows passengers to opt for fares more economic, maintaining the same level of attention, this includes free on-board entertainment, in addition to meals and drinks of the Economy Class.
This service is not refundable, although it allows certain changes with the payment of an additional fee. Customers traveling in Basic Economy will not be able to perform cabin upgrades, even if they have elite status. On the other hand, a randomly assigned seat is given to you at check-in, and the approach indicated in Chile is in Group 8.
The fares of the tickets in Basic Economy vary according to the seasons, as usually happens, however, they show prices much more convenient than in the normal Economic fare.
The most important points to keep in mind with Basic Economy in our country are:
1.- Baggage in the cabin: the allocation of hand luggage for all international rates including Basic Economy, is a personal item and hand luggage.
2.- Checked bags: Basic Economy rates for Chile allow up to two checked bags with an additional charge, which is paid at check-in.
3.- Assignment of seats: Basic Economy customers can choose their seat when issuing their ticket with an additional payment, or they will be assigned a seat automatically when customers register for the flight.
