Venture Global LNG, Inc. and Kiewit jointly announced that Kiewit was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract in connection with the Calcasieu Pass LNG export project that is under development at Cameron Parish (Louisiana). Under the terms of the engineering, purchase and turnkey construction contract, Kiewit Louisiana Co. will design, build, commission, test and guarantee the facility, which has an identification plate of 10 million tons per year (MTPA). The completion is expected to be in 2022.

The 10 MTPA Calcasieu Pass facility will employ a comprehensive process solution from GE Oil & Gas, LLC, part of Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE) using medium-scale, modular and factory-made liquefaction trains, as well as 5×2 711 MW CCGT for the electrical impulse system of the trains. Construction on the facility will begin in early 2019 after receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals, including the final order of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), whose current issuance is scheduled no later than January 22, 2019.
The Calcasieu Pass project signed binding extraction agreements for 20 years with Shell, BP, Edison S.p.A., Galp, Repsol and PGNiG. The company is also developing the 20 MTPA Plaquemines LNG export facility at Plaquemines Parish (Louisiana), which signed its first 20-year binding agreement with PGNiG. Venture Global LNG expects to make final investment decisions formally in the LNG Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines projects in 2019.
